Much better than expected 2010-09-07 |
| By ephany77 (Georgia) |
| Ok, I'm one of those 30-something busy moms who HATE to exercise. Between grad school, work, and my daughter's schedule I just couldn't fit in time to drive to the gym, work out and then drive home on a regular basis. This game is awesome! I can walk after she goes to bed and don't have to worry about my jiggly bits scaring others being as I'm in the privacy of my own home. I frequently find that I've walked an hour or more and I have to force myself to quit. I'm actually forgetting that I'm exercising and sweating. It's oddly addicting to click on those little floating icons and watch your island come to life. My only complaints are that I'd like an option to turn off the perfect and great counters, the only numbers I care about are the number of steps and miles walked. The songlist is a bit repetitive, but catchy. I've tried all three methods, and the balance board works best for me; you just have to ignore the don't walk warning when you start the game. Overall this is a great game and I've even caught my daughter and husband trying it out. :) |
Seniors LOVE it too 2010-09-06 |

| I am 62 and cannot get enough of this game! I have only had it for 1 week, but I love it. I think it is because I am very computer literate, like to multi-task and I love to dance. Yes, I do a DANCE/WALK. Also, I like most all of the songs and I like learning the words as I play. I have to make myself STOP. I usually do 3-4 miles a day. Looking for WIO2! |
A Fun Way to Get a Low Impact Workout! 2010-09-04 |
| By C. Haakmeester (Alpharetta) |
I am so excited to have gotten this game as it got some great reviews and was thrilled to have a way to walk when the weather didn't premit, or if I wanted to walk late at night, etc. This is a fun way to get that workout it but so fun you forget you are exercising!
I am not understanding why some people said it was so difficult to get into the beat. I did not have that difficulty at all. You really just have to stay with the beat of the music, pretty similar when you walk in place in an aerobics class. If you can do that, you can do this game. The music is fun and the game gives you tasks to do to give a challenge while walking. I just put it in to try it out for a minute and wound up doing it for 20 minutes without realizing it.
For me, I found the best option was to use the remote and nunchunk. It says to put it in your pocket, but I just use the leg band that I got with the wii active game. It stays secure and this way I can walk, jog or run at my leisure. I can also where sneakers, which you can't wear on the wii fit. If you don't have that, I know you can buy them for not much money at all and it really does work very well with this game.
Anyway, I look forward to using this game in my routine. I will write more at a later time as I use it to speak of my results. |
Fun exercise without knowing it 2010-09-04 |

| This game is fantastic! We have it for the wii and play it with the balance board. It takes a bit of practice but after you get the "rhythm" and the hang of it, you will love it. I walked a mile the first time I tried it and now I regularly walk a couple of miles each week. Along with it's overall motivation with building the island up, it gives you lots of positive feedback and encouragement. You can exercise tons while having fun. |
Keeps me motivated to walk longer than I've ever wanted to walk before 2010-08-26 |
| By C. Paulton (Florida) |
| There are loads of people who have done the whole island 4 or 5 times... I'm still on my first trip. That being said, I consistently log 3-4 miles a day and have to force myself to stop and participate in real life. Bring on Walk It Out 2!!! There are so many possibilities for this concept - hopefully this is a new wave in exercise games. |
